Blown-In Insulation

Blown-in insulation, also known as loose-fill insulation, is a type of insulation material that is installed by blowing or spraying it into the desired area. It is commonly used to insulate attics, walls, and other enclosed spaces.

Blown-in insulation is available in different materials, including fiberglass, cellulose, and mineral wool. Here are the three main types:
Fiberglass: Fiberglass blown-in insulation consists of tiny glass fibers that are blown or sprayed into the designated area. The fibers create a fluffy layer that helps to trap air and reduce heat transfer. Fiberglass blown-in insulation is non-combustible and resists moisture.

Cellulose: Cellulose blown-in insulation is made from recycled paper products, typically treated with fire-retardant chemicals to improve its fire resistance. It is a popular choice due to its eco-friendly nature. Cellulose insulation provides good thermal performance and effectively fills gaps and voids.

Mineral wool: Mineral wool blown-in insulation is made from natural or synthetic materials, such as rock or slag fibers. It offers excellent fire resistance and sound-dampening properties. Mineral wool insulation is also resistant to moisture and pests.
